Blogger was down yesterday and I noticed free 'blogging credits on my Godaddy.com account. I'm using the free version (came with a domain) of their Quick Blogcast. I like it and plan to get the paid version. I used URL Forwarding with Masking to send www.FoodWaterGold.com to the 'blog, which is hosted on a subdomain of another domain.
Godaddy is very reliable and I like the new things they've been adding to their Control Panels. Here's a link to their new 4G Blog Hosting page.
My new 'blog is at www.FoodWaterGold.com. I don't know how many 'blogs I'll end up with. Blogger is cool so of course I'm keeping it.
But I wonder how long I will continue to correctly punctuate the contraction of the word "Weblog", using the apostrophe. Because now that I think of it, the compound word "Weblog" does not necessarily use correct syntax, either. We have Ship's Logs and Maintenance Logs, not Ship'slogs and Maintenancelogs.
Furthermore, once someone has created a product name omitting the apostrophe, it's a name. I know a lady called "Sherly". I knew another one named "Geeta". Had their parents not unintentionally evolved their versions of these name's spelling, these women would have spelled their names as "Shirley" and "Gita".
So I think I'll give in. This post will be the last time I use the apostrophe in what is now the word "Blog" or "blog". But I am noting it here. I may not be a Frenchman, and my country doesn't hold grande dictées. But we're not completely unaware over here.
